            Villasis has been one of the landmarks in Pangasinan being known as the VEGETABLE BOWL OF PANGASINAN because of its high production of fresh yet affordable vegetables that most travelers coming from North to South are attracted to. Agriculture has been the main source of income as most of the people in the barangays are farmers while most residents in the town proper are career oriented. This town has gone through a lot of tremendous situations. However for the past decades, it has metamorphosed and great changes happened since Christian Churches have united and political leaders of the town allowed the different church leaders to dedicate the town for God’s glory.

            It was in the late 80’s, somewhere in Sterling Village, Poblacion Zone I of Villasis, an independent church was founded through the initiative of Pastor Esther Basilio and family. They were migrants from Davao who had a great compassion to the people of Villasis. She pioneered spreading the good news together with Sis. Marcela Rabe, Sis. Gema Sayson and Sis. Arlene Manantan. This pioneering church was named “CHRIST IS THE ANSWER”.

            In 1986, Sis. Lina Sarmiento, an ardent follower of Christ and a Born Again Christian since JIL Araullo days in Manila came home to Villasis and pursued her desire to share the gospel with her family.  With God’s provision she was able to fulfill her dreams of bringing the whole clan of Sarmiento to God. Since the ministry of Pastor Esther was starting to grow, Sis. Lina did work with them which started with simple bible studies from house to house in Poblacion Zone I initially with 10 attendees. Until such time when they opened a prayer meeting, many accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Through fervent prayers, God powerfully moved in this church that in unity, the members were able to put up a small bamboo chapel. But as what most churches experienced, as the number of believers increased, trials kept coming and persecutions from people around the vicinity never stopped. But through the strength of God, the believers of Christ had overcome all these circumstances. The members remained in their faith and the number of believers continued to multiply.

            In 1990, Pastor Esther and family, though reluctantly,  left the place, the ministry and the chapel due to pressing family concerns. Since no one among the leaders can do the task of a pastor, with the initiative of Sis. Lina and concerted efforts of the church leaders, they affiliated Christ is the Answer to JIL Fellowship.

            The bamboo chapel was then eventually improved and was changed to concrete building when Bro. Carlos and Bro. Cecilio Sarmiento finally offered some parcel of their lot, which until now the JIL Church is situated.

            By the time it was affiliated, JIL Dagupan sent town pastors namely Pastors John Cruz and Joey Garcia, in 1991 Pastor Danny Caranto, in 1992 Pastor Ed Bautista, and Pastor Apolonio Villanueva in 1993, of which this was the time when there was division among the members, but it was soon realized by the body of Christ that it was just only a stepping stone for every leader in the church to be strong and continue with the ministry.

            The church now is in full blast ministry having 10 cell groupings, 2 Sunday morning services and 1 satellite service at Brgy. Capulaan, Villasis.

            Jesus is Lord Church Villasis is accommodating talented members regardless of their ages. Most members have God-given talents and gifts in music. They can sing, play instruments, dance with a tambourine, interpretative dancing, and acting skills for God’s glory.

            From 1993 to present, JESUS IS LORD CHURCH VILLASIS continues on its 18 years of fruitful and victorious ministry under the leadership of Pastor Domingo Mendoza.
