          JIL Tanauan was formerly one of the town outreaches of JIL-Batangas. Ptr. Addie Asi, a native of Batangas province was used by God to start spreading the Word to the neighboring towns of Tanauan. Evangelism began sometime in September, 1987 at Brgy. Natatas, Tanauan, Batangas. Immediately after, a Sunday service was established. In May of the following year (1988), the Sunday Service was transferred at the town proper using the gym of Tanauan Institute (T.I.) as a place of worship with a minimal rental fee. During that time, weekly attendance averaged to 60 persons.

          The Expansion
        After years of prayers, fasting, and evangelism activities of the leaders, workers, and volunteers under the leadership of Ptr. Addie, weekly attendance grew, averaging from 400 to 500. People kept on attending because they experienced the power of God. Since the place of worship at that time can accommodate only around 300 people, an evening service was established.

The Birth of JILCS
          March of 1996 was a milestone of the Jesus Is Lord Learning Center when its leadership finally decided to put up a branch school of Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation after almost three years of fervent prayers. With barely 8 pupils, the school started its operation in a small living room of rented office at Sambat, Tanauan, Batangas. God’s faithfulness is very evident each year as He continually led more parents to entrust their child’s education to JILCS.

          As the enrollees increased, God also sent committed and willing missionary teachers to work for the school. In line with the development undergone by the school through the years, its name also changed from JIL Learning Center to JIL Christian School. Moving forward and seeing much bigger vision, they decided to open its High School department.

The Trials
         One of the major trials that they experienced was when some pastors turned away from the leadership of JIL. However, it is really true that when God closes the door, He opens the windows. God raised up another breed of leaders headed by Ptr. Addie Asi who faithfully stood up and rebuilt what has been damaged. Nobody is indispensable in the ministry because not long after, the JIL Church regained back its previous victories through the effort, willingness and dedication of the new pastors.

The Transition
         A great transition happened when it transferred to its new location in the year 2000. From then on, the church and school have been occupying an abandoned hospital strategically located at the town proper. Some portions of the lot were already owned by the church through monthly amortization while the rest are still rented every month. To date, there are already 4 Sunday worship services, (2 services in the morning, 1 service in the evening and 1 youth service), 6 extension services plus 77 cell groups in this chapter alone. On the other hand, the JILCS has a total population of 635 on its 12th year of operation.To God be all the glory for the great things He has done!
