          Jesus Is Lord Church Pulilan was established on March 25, 1990. It is part of Area 5, which also consists of the towns of Plaridel, Bustos, and Pandi. The location of the first Sunday Service was in the Old Cine Aida in Poblacion, Pulilan, Bulacan. Through the efforts of Pastor Domeng Rivera, Area 5 Head Pastor Nancy Teodoro, Pastor Rene Constantino and a handful of other workers who laid the groundwork, families started to come to know God and the church people grew in number.

          The Gospel was first preached by the JIL people in the town of Pulilan on September 15, 1985. The Church encountered frequent persecution when stones were thrown on their church roof during the Sunday Service, as well as complaints and grudges from the town folks. History wise, the town of Pulilan is also where the first public “Bible burning” occurred in the early 80’s, when the priests from the major Catholic High School in Pulilan gathered the Bibles given away by Gideon International and set them on fire in front of students and teachers.

          JIL Pulilan experienced a lot of difficulties in its first ten years—foremost being the frequent transfer of locations and change in pastors due to leadership issues and other setbacks. There have been about five different locations throughout Pulilan and the church has been under the leadership of five different pastors in 17 years.

          After a drop in Church attendance and performance following a major leadership problem in 2005, JIL Pulilan has recuperated and cell groups are once again active. After the storms, the people still prayed and stood together with much hope and a heightened eagerness to serve God.

          Getting through all the hardships and still standing up and growing are proof of God’s power and faithfulness. Now with over 120 members in attendance, JIL Pulilan is currently headed by Pastor Feddick Telles. He succeeded Pastor Rodel Garcia, who is now on a mission in JIL Taiwan. In early 2007, God finally granted the long-time prayer of His people in Pulilan—to have their own church lot and building. The lot, measuring 1,399 square meters, is said to be the biggest among all the parcels of land acquired by the Area 5 churches. Breakthrough after another, JIL Pulilan stood shining for the greater glory of God.

          On March 9, 2008, claiming Nehemiah 2:18-20 (“Let us start rebuilding… for the God of Heaven will give us success…”), the people began constructing their new church in their very own lot with little resources but great faith. On June 29, JIL Pulilan finally conquered its “Promised Land” and celebrated its 18th Anniversary at its barely-finished new building, where more than 500 people gathered to proclaim God’s unending goodness and claimed His new promise, "I will adorn my glorious temple" (Isaiah 60:7b). The Church now awaits its rise as day by day, the JIL people of Pulilan continue to work together and pray towards the finishing and beautifying of God's glorious temple.
