The Jesus Is Lord Church reached the island of Hong Kong in May 1985 when Bro. Eddie and Sis. Dory held a crusade. Despite hindrances and oppositions, Bro. Eddie was unfazed and boldly preached the Gospel to Filipinos that converged in Central, Hong Kong side. Five (5) domestic helpers initially responded to the high calling of discipleship. With the challenge that they received from God through the preaching and ministering of Bro. Eddie, they started their Bible studies at the Blake Pier during their rest days. From then on, it has experienced a phenomenal growth and has reached to more than 30,000 memberships. It is considered the biggest born-again church in Hong Kong today and one of the largest if not the largest JIL-International chapter. It has also acquired its own world class worship center in Kowloon side with 1400 seating capacity last 2005 known as the JIL International Center.
: Now, celebrating its twenty-three years of spreading the gospel and reaching out to Filipinos and 
other nationalities, JIL Hong Kong (JILHK) is continuously growing both in membership and in God-given resources. At present, JILHK under the leadership of its Regional Pastor, Rev. Crisanto J. Jose have already established 14 worship services all over Hong Kong. With 29 nightly Bible studies, 912 Cell Groups and have raised an estimate of 2,000 volunteer workers and leaders. A man of commitment and vision and a seasoned leader, Pastor Cris’ no non-sense leadership has also led to accomplish the following for JILHK:
- JIL 12 system was installed in 2006 as a strategy to strengthen Discipleship and Evangelism Program.
- Church Leadership Development Program (CLDP) was also implemented in Nov. 2007 as an alternative training for developing leaders.
- Management Information System (MIS) was also established and installed in 2006 to effectively and efficiently monitor and respond to Ministry operations. Along with this, a local network of MIS has also been set-up which readily provides accurate data and information for future decision-making and reporting to the mother church.
- One pastor per church service ratio was implemented in Oct. 2006 to further meet the growing needs of churches and its operations and strengthen JILHK Pastors’ Leadership capabilities.
JIL HK celebrated its 23rd Anniversary last May 1, 2008 with the theme “Your Kingdom Come”. Indeed, the kingdoms of this world shall become the kingdom of our God!
